The Marseille Marathon is organised by CarmaSport, a subsidiary company of the HighCo group, and the Massilia Marathon association, under the aegis of the City of Marseilles. The department of the Grands Evénements and the Sports department of the City of Marseilles have supported the organisation to offer a huge popular marathon to its residents and participants.
The success of this marathon is based on a well-thinking route, an efficient communication, and a strong organisation able to create private and institutional partnerships and able to federate the 1000 volunteers.

Carma Sport uses its experience and its expertise (in event logistics and sports marketing) gained during the organisation of other sports events as the Athletics World Championship in 2003 or the Rugby World Cup in 2007.
